Dear 5^th grader and family,

Welcome to 5^th grade. My name is Ms. Ramirez and I am a 1^st year teacher here at Dewey. Many of you may know me or recognize me from when I worked here with Woodcraft Rangers, student teaching, or substitute teaching. I’m so excited to be your teacher this year!! I look forward to all the fun and productive stuff 5^th grade has in store for us. I believe that together, we can make this year successful.

Parents, here are some ways you can help reinforce what your child is learning at school:

• Set aside a quiet space for 30 minutes for your child to read.
• Check homework agenda.
• Ensure that homework is completed.
• Provide materials for homework and projects.
• Discuss with your child about what they are learning about
