welcome to Dewey Avenue Elementary back to school night is Williams and I am the principal here at Lee Elementary so I have been working here in the Garvey school district or over 24 years I graduated from Cal State LA worked in the district married have two children and happily to be here the administrator at Dewey I want to go over some safety protocols we know that coming back to school is different than the years past we're continuing to have our daily health screening temperature text which students are going through a series of questions in the morning asking how do they feel if anyone in the house is sick and also having their temperature when the students come to school we're also checking to make sure that all students have mass covering every student and staff should be wearing their masks reply as they enter school campus if they do not have a mask covering can we do provide it for them before they enter School we continue to encourage the social justice and having students say about three feet apart we have outside hand washing stations where students can wash their hands frequently outside at recess and throughout the day we also have a water bottle refilling station so we no longer have any drinking water fountains on campus so that we are not touching the water fountain one after another we have touchless water fill station or the students can put their water bottle and it will automatically fill it up without having to touch all of these have been put into place for the safety and well-being of for students the drop-off and pick-up is important to know in the morning we asked the students are dropped. If we look at our do we match this is our map and in the yellow section is our front parking lot we asked the students are dropped off along Dewey Avenue in the street in front of our parking lot we are step parents do not enter the parking lot because this is for staff and also students are lining up in the morning and we do not want to endanger any of the students and parents that are lining up in the morning so we ask the parent drop-off students along Dewey Avenue we also ask that you are limited to about 3 minutes or drop-off we ask that you do not park along Julie Avenue because we know that some parents need to go to work and stuff up quickly and if we have multiple cars parked there it limits the space of dropping off the student so yeah but you drop off your student along Dewey Avenue or if you want to for a longer amount of time we ask that you parked down Dewey Avenue or down the street because we want this area in front of her school and be for dropping off and picking up or about we also ask that we are sensitive to our neighbors and that we do not park any cars blocking driveways so the house is across the street from us. access to their driveway so we just put signs asking not to park in front of driveways we know it's difficult when we are picking up and dropping off and in the afternoon ask that you do not stop the long do we Avenue if you can please temporarily park or move down the street so we have enough space for parents to pick up children often times there are cars devil and it does create a backup of traffic so we out that you parked along Dewey Avenue or park down the street to drop off and pick up students this will ensure the safety of all I would like to introduce our Dewey Avenue starting with our kindergarten teachers we have our dual-language teacher we have MS and our other two language teacher Miss introducing our first and second grade teachers we have are dual-language teacher starting with misdemeanor we have our first grade teacher Miss Munoz and wheat this year we have Miss kiss other teaching first and second grade so she is our first and second grade combination in second grade we have our dual-language teacher Miss Garcia and we have our second grade teacher mr. young who has the second grade we have Mister Chan we have an issue and welcoming to our new Dewey dolphin staff member is Miss Perez is Arthur dual-language teacher in 4th grade we continued have Miss Lim teaching 4th grade as well as a new staff member Miss gudula who's also teaching 4th grade inner Upper Grade 5th and 6th grade we have another teacher mr.
