Mrs. Quezada
First Grade
Room 10
Welcome to the 2019-2020 School Year! I am happy to be your child’s teacher and having them become part of our classroom. This year, your child will not only have the opportunity to grow academically, but also experience social growth.
In alignment to the California Common Core Standards, first grade students will be expected to explain their thinking processes through writing and verbal communication. I encourage you to please ask your child questions and have them respond in complete sentences. Practicing speaking skills at home is very important, in any language.
In first grade, students will be exposed to much more reading and writing. It is highly essential for students to have additional opportunities to read and write at home.
This year your child will continue exploring addition and subtraction, have a greater understanding of number values, and representing numbers in different forms.
I look forward to guide your child in this learning process, and I am excited to get to know each personality and learning needs. I encourage you to communicate any questions or concerns you may have for me. Sometimes it is a little challenging to answer all of your questions at the time of dismissal. My priority is to make sure every child is released to the appropriate adult. So if you don’t get a chance to talk to me, please feel free to email me at any time. My school email is cquezada@gesd.us. The office will also receive messages, but calls cannot be transferred during school hours.
Thank you for all of your support in your child’s education. I look forward to meeting all of the Room 10 families.
